€800,000 to be used to reduce deficit

By Esther Hayden

€800,000 will be used to help reduce the deficit in Wexford County Council's accounts.

At last Monday's meeting of Wexford County Council Head of Finance Annette O'Neill said that the 2016 annual financial statement showed 'an excess of income over expenditure of approximately €800,000' and Cllr Anthony Donohue wondered if this money would be used to reduce the council's overdraft.

Ms O'Neill said the money would be used to reduce the council's deficit rather than the overdraft.
