A family effort for Fine Gael man Paul Kehoe
FINE GAEL candidate Paul Kehoe was in the south of Wexford, canvassing Clongeen on Monday afternoon as it became clear that the national poll cannot be far off. And the Bree native revealed that he had no less than four teams out already on the stomp around the constituency.
One of those teams is led by his mother Bernadette, still a formidable political operator in her seventies, while wife Bridget, sister Eleanor and several brothers have also been going from door to door.
'I have already done a fair bit of Enniscorthy,' revealed the party Chief Whip who has been balancing the requirement to pass a Finance Bill through the Oireachtas with minding his own back yard.
'Enniscorthy is the hotbed of the competition this time,' muses Deputy Kehoe. He looks slightly enviously at running mates Michael D'Arcy and Liam Twomey who have less to worry about on their own doorsteps.
