Ability matters

ABILITY MATTERS is an innovative rehabilitation clinic established in the Cleaboy Business Park in Waterford city over two years ago. Our clinic is staffed by an Occupational Therapist with an Orthotist, Prosthetist and Physiotherapist available by appointment. The clinic also has a retail space and houses a range of daily living aids, from one-handed can openers and sock helpers to wheelchair ramps and mobility scooters.

Our Occupational Therapist is on hand to provide free advice regarding products and training in their use. Anyone is free to drop into the clinic to look at the aids on show and to ask for free advice. Our Occupational Therapist can also complete home assessments to identify any difficulties a person may be having with their home environment and make recommendations on how to be as independent and safe as possible.

Our Orthotist specialises in foot and lower limb biomechanics and could provide the answer to those recurring/niggling injuries. An orthotist can supply an external support that can assist any joint in the body that needs stabilising, including the spine, and our equipment can, over time, also help reduce a deformity.

Our Physiotherapist can looks at many mobility and joint problems including Muscle/Tendon/Ligament Strains, Golfers/ Tennis Elbow, Pre and Post Op Rehabilitation, Sciatica and Whiplash and Return to sport and injury avoidance advice.

Anyone is welcome to pop in for a look around or if you would like to arrange an appointment with one of our clinicians please ring on 051 337016 or email info@abilitymatters.ie
