AIB provides €40,000 funding to kids

ALLIED Irish Bank ( AIB) branches in Co Wexford have awarded ¤40,000 to local projects working with children as part of their 'Better Ireland' programme.

Twelve children's projects in Wexford will share in the AIB Better Ireland funding of ¤40,000, with ¤10,000 divided between three projects in the Wexford, New Ross, Enniscorthy and Gorey areas.

The three short listed projects per branch were ranked depending on the number of votes they received from their local community. Over 600,000 votes were cast throughout Ireland. The project that ranked in first place for each local branch will now receive ¤5,000, second place, ¤3,000 and third place ¤2,000.

The groups in Wexford to enjoy a share of the ¤10,000 from their local AIB Bank Branch are:

AIB Wexford: 1 – Piercestown Scout and Guide Group; 2 – Southend Family Resource Centre; 3 – Our Lady of Fatima Special Needs School.

AIB New Ross: 1 - South West Wexford CDP; 2 – Cunamh Mhuire Special Needs Pre-School; 3 – New Ross Parent and Toddler Group.

AIB Enniscorthy: 1 – St Patrick's Special School; 2 – Enniscorthy Dyslexia Workshop; 3 – St Senan's Primary School Parent Group.

AIB Gorey: 1 – Gorey Youth Needs Group; 2 – St Clemen's Community Playschool; 3 – C. I. L. A. Pre-school, St Aidan's Services.
