Another conviction for man who is already in prison
A WEXFORD man with three previous convictions for driving without insurance was sentenced to two months' imprisonment to run concurrent with his present custodial sentence when he appeared before New Ross District Court last Tuesday to answer another no insurance charge.
Graham Hurley from 10 Monck Street was before the court charged with driving uninsured and with the non-display of an insurance disc, failing to produce an insurance certificate and failing to produce a driving licence within 10 days. These offences occurred while he was disqualified from driving on April 29, 2009, after he was stopped by Garda Doyle at Piercestown.
The court heard that Hurley, who has 74 previous convictions, is due to be released from custody by January.
Judge Clyne sentenced him to two months' imprisonment to run concurrent with his current sentence and disqualified him from driving for four years.
