Artistic boost for Tidy Towns in Blackwater
A REGULAR holiday maker to Blackwater, Ken Flynn from Dublin, decided he wanted to give something back to the village which he visits on a regular basis.
And so he decided to paint a picture which he felt captured the beauty of the town and offered it to the Blackwater Tidy Towns' committee as a raffle prize.
Yvonne Busher, chairperson of the committee, said that all proceeds from the ticket sales will be used to keep the village in pristine condition.
She commended Mr. Flynn for his generosity in donated the piece to the committee and said that she hopes people will support the initiative.
Tickets are on sale from any committee member. The raffle will take place on the bridge in Blackwater at 2p.m. on Sunday, 26 August.
