Ballast Office plan

PLANS ARE underway for the refurbishment of the Ballast Office on Crescent Quay in Wexford. Consultants are being appointed to design the renovations, according to the County Manager Eddie Breen.

As the new authority for Wexford Harbour, the County Council now has responsibility for the Ballast Office.

Given its location opposite the John Barry Statue and close to the Failte Ireland Tourist Office, the Council is considering the option of having an exhibition centre in the building, dedicated to Commodore Barry. The project would be subject to funding, however.
