Black 47 lead singer Larry in Wexford Arts Centre
Larry Kirwan returns to his old stomping ground on Saturday, October 14, with a Wexford Arts Centre gig starting 8.30 p.m.
Larry is best known as lead singer of US-based Black 47 who played 2,500 gigs in 25 years (with everyone from Neil Young to Joe Strummer) and released 16 albums. Before that Larry performed with Pierce Turner in Turner & Kirwan of Wexford and The Major Thinkers.
He was raised near George's Street and played his first gigs with The Johnny Reck Showband at the Arts Centre, then known as Wexford Town Hall. Tickets are €15 from the Arts Centre, tel. 053 91 23764.
