Breda speaks at launch of thehookoffaith.com
The Diocese of Ferns is hoping to find its way into the homes of even more people following the launch of a new website at the Riverside Park Hotel. Bishop Denis Brennan was present to officially unveil thehookoffaith.com, a new website for people across the diocese, while journalist Breda O'Brien was guest speaker.
The website is the brainchild of a group of students from the Pastoral Theology Course at St Peter's College, who went on to form a group called Ferns CAFE (Catholic Adult Formation and Education) with the mission of 'digitally proclaiming the Gospel in the diocese of Ferns and beyond'.
Those behind the website are hoping that it will have a huge uptake both locally and from around the whole country and could grow into something even bigger.
Currently, the website contains a number of pieces from members of the clergy and lay people on a variety of different topics surrounding faith. There are also interviews to listen to and a list of news and events that are going on within the diocese.
Bishop Brennan congratulated those behind the website on a fantastic job and hoped that it would become a successful tool. There was also live music from Wexford-based Christian band 'The Mustard Seeds'.
The website is now live and members of the public are invited to visit and take a look for themselves.
