Bridges old store now gone but never forgotten
The landmark former premises of the late George Bridges in Selskar where he ran his toyshop for many years has been demolished.
George, who died last year, brought delight and wonder to the children of Wexford at the store, especially at Christmas time.
He closed his toy store more than 20 years ago, but is still fondly remembered for his 'weeks to Christmas' advertising campaigns, some of which started in the middle of the summer. Since he closed the business it has gone through various incarnations.
Ardcavan Developments, part of the Kent group, is developing a retail unit at the site.
