Burglar back for second helpings
A BURGLAR who returned for second helpings at the house from which he had already taken a copper cylinder came before the District Court last week. James Doyle (30) of Tinteskin, Kilmuckridge admitted offences at 35 Ard Cuan, Whiterock Hill, Wexford on September 3 and again on September 5.
Garda Colin Dunne told the court how he was called to the Ard Cuan estate and saw Doyle with property stolen from Number 35. It emerged, that two days earlier, he had removed the cylinder from the garage at the same house.
Solicitor Ed King stressed that the defendant was not likely to re-offend and suggested that the crimes described occurred at a time when Doyle was in personal difficulties and drinking heavily.
The copper was worth €90 and the accused brought €200 to offer in compensation to court. Once the money was handed over, he was allowed the benefit of the Probation Act on the first offence and fined €250 for his second attempt at burglary.
