Camilla to marry on Royal Wedding day
NEVER MIND Will and Kate - Camilla will walk down the aisle in Wexford this Royal Wedding Friday.
Bride-to-be Camilla McMahon will wed her partner Thomas Doyle in a civil ceremony in the Riverbank House Hotel at 3.30 p.m.
The Windsor wedding may have hogged the media in recent weeks, but Camilla is sure that she'll nab her very own prince on Friday.
'I'd just remind the Royal couple that we booked the day first. We booked our wedding in October last year. When I heard they picked the same date I thought 'That's just typical, we can't even have our own wedding day,'' smiled the relaxed bride-to-be on Tuesday.
Camilla originally hails from Dublin but has lived in the Oulart/The Ballagh area for the last 15 years.
Unlike Kate Middleton, Camilla is also happy to get a break from castles for a while, as the honeymoon takes her away from her job in the Department of Agriculture in Johnstown Castle.
Camilla's partner Thomas hails from Arklow.
The fact that Camilla shares a name with Prince William's stepmother Camilla has been a source of amusement to many of her friends.
'I don't mind sharing the day with the Royal wedding, but because I have the same name as Prince Charles's wife, I've had to listen to a lot of jokes,' she said.
While the world may be watching Kate and Will on Friday, Camilla and her 90 or so guests will concentrate solely on the ceremony in the Riverbank House Hotel.
'We won't have televisions of the Royal Wedding at ours. We won't be watching it at all,' she smiled.
