Cedars' re-opening to create up to 20 jobs
UP TO 20 jobs have been created, with more expected in the coming weeks, with the reopening of the Cedars Hotel in Rosslare Strand.
The hotel reopened last month, after being closed since late 2010, and will be officially reopened by Minister Brendan Howlin this Friday afternoon.
The site had become run down while it was closed, and its reopening will be warmly welcomed by local tourism providers, and by locals, in the area.
The premises has been taken over by James and Grace Chan and family, and some structural works as well as decorative works have been carried out. Between 15 and 20 jobs have already been created, with more jobs on the way.
Some of the hotel's original staff have also been rehired.
The restaurant will reopen next week, while the two bars and function room are also operational. Most of the 34 bedrooms are also open to guests with the others due to open shortly.
