Up to thirty new jobs are set to be created as part of the continued regeneration of Redmond Square. Major coffee chain Insomnia and new nationwide burger chain Yeah! Burgr are to take up residency side by side in units around the corner from the Arc Cinema.

Currently situated in the corner unit, Stork Nursery is to move out in the coming weeks to make way for the burger chain and the unit next door, formerly Nolan Stoneworks, will house Insomnia.

The owners of the premises, Melcorpo Ltd, have said that works on fitting out both shops are to commence shortly and are anticipated to take in the region of two months, in what is the latest part of their strategy for the area north of Wexford's Main Street.

Since acquiring the units, the owners have overseen the opening of the Arc Cinema in 2017 with supermarket chain Iceland following last year.

In a statement, they say that their goal is for 'Redmond Square to become Wexford's premier leisure and dining destination'.

This will be the fourth Yeah! Burgr restaurant in Ireland, following on the heels of success in Navan, Maynooth and Drogheda since 2017.

The company offers a range of gourmet burgers and chicken wings and the interior is to be kitted out with an 'NYC vibe'.

Owned by the Moran brothers from Navan, they are greatly looking forward to moving into the Wexford market.

'Wexford is a fantastic, vibrant town,' said Stephen Moran.

'We're sure our unique offering will go down a storm from the day we open. Our new location at Redmond Square beside the Arc Cinema is perfect for a high quality, but casual dining experience and offers the people of Wexford the perfect combination for the perfect day or night out.'

Meanwhile, having grown from a single store at the back of a bookshop in Galway, Insomnia Coffee has grown into one of the largest chains of coffee shops in the country with some 150 stores nationwide. The company has recently begun to expand into the UK market and are delighted to finally add a Wexford town store to outlets in Gorey Shopping Centre and Bunclody.

'I am delighted to open Insomnia in Wexford Town,' said Dara O'Flynn CEO of Insomnia Coffee Company. 'I'm confident that local residents and shoppers alike will love our coffee and the store, and it will hopefully become a new local hub for the town.'

The new Insomnia store is to provide seating for up to 40 people and will create at least 12 jobs initially. The owners are excited about the store design which is to feature a whole host of quirky elements like a vintage tea cup clock and quirky wall features like a scrabble wall and a coffee cinema sign.

Recruitment of staff for both Insomnia and Yeah! Burgr is to commence shortly and will provide a major boost to employment prospects locally.
