Choir visits Áras
Members of the Wexford Ladies Choir were in good company recently as they travelled to Dublin for a special garden party at Áras an Uachtaráin hosted by Presiden Michael D Higgins.
Eleven members were chosen to represent the choir on the day and made the journey to the capital. The garden party was held to recognise several community, sporting and cultural organisations and also present on the day were representatives of the IRFU, FAI, GAA and many more, including cultural and sporting organisations from Northern Ireland. The members of the choir were led by founder member Jean Callaghan and one by one they were individually introduced to the President and his wife Sabina, who were said to be extremely friendly. The Wexford Ladies Choir was honoured to have been chosen to attend the function, in what is a very important year for its members as they celebrate 25 years in existence.
