Cocaine and cash discovered at checkpoint
A routine Garda checkpoint led to the discovery of €9,000 worth of cocaine and a 'substantial' sum of money last week.
The checkpoint was mounted on Wednesday in Castlebridge and a spokesperson for Wexford Gardai said that between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. members stopped a local man, in his 30s, who was subsequently found to be in possession of the drugs and money.
He was arrested under the Misuse of Drugs Act and was detained for questioning at Wexford Garda Station. A file on the matter is currently being prepared for the DPP.
