Communities need to be the fore when providing housing
The needs of the community must be prioritised when it comes to housing provision.
Cllr Deirdre Wadding said she had recently attended a housing meeting in Dublin and saw a plan for a number of two bed units in a 'very tight knit community'.
Comparing the plan to 'ghettoisation', she said, 'I don't want us to go down that road. We should be looking at the best possible community role'.
Senior executive officer Liz Hore said the council didn't just consider bricks when building but look at providing a stable community.
