Congregation bids farewell to Fr. Tom

THE congregation of Rathangan - Cleariestown parish turned out in force last Friday night for a Thanksgiving Mass to mark the occasion of Fr. Tom Dalton's departure from te parish.

Fr. Tom Dalton has been the Parish Priest there for six years and has now left to take up a post in Riverchapel outside Gorey.

On the night his parents Tommy and Francis from Arthurstown were in attendance to witness their son receive a staggering 11 presentations from different clubs and organisations within the parish, all expressing their sincere thanks for his support down through the last six years. One project in particular which would never have gotten off the ground without his guidance and support was the restoration project at Rathangan Church.

Fr. Tom Dalton has taken up his new post in Riverchapel and a new parish priest has yet to be appointed to Rathangan. Although it is expected that this will happen in due course.
