Councillors kick up fuss over bus
A DEPUTATION from the council plans to meet Transport Minister Pascal Donohue over plans to cut the Expressway Route 5 bus service through the county.
Several councillors brought motions regarding the decision by Bus Eireann to discontinue the service saying it will affect numerous towns and villages and hundreds of people, including students and sick elderly people who rely on the service. Cllr Barbara Anne Murphy said Bus Eireann never made the route economically viable, adding that the bus times need to be changed.
Independent Cllr Davy Hynes agreed, saying Wexford County Council should write to Bus Eireann and seek a meeting with the minister on the matter.
