Criminal damage accused represented by her mother
DEFENDANT Joanna Connors from 8 Lee Heights in Wexford was represented by her mother when she was called to face a charge of criminal damage in court last week. The case was raised during the Enniscorthy sitting of the District Court on Wednesday.
The charge, brought by Garda Andrea Cullen, dated back to April 5 last, when it was alleged that Miss Connors was responsible for damage to the vehicle of Mary Corrigan at the Lidl supermarket car park.
The older woman stepped forward to tell Judge Donnchadh Ó Buachalla that her daughter had no legal representative and she sought an adjournment to allow her obtain the services of a solicitor. The inspector had no objection to this.
The mother said that the accused had been suffering from depression. She thanked the judge when he put the case back to February 9 to allow Miss Connors take legal advice.
