Customs dogs sniff out 8kg of herbal cannabis in car on ferry from France

OFFICERS FROM Revenue's Customs Service at Rosslare Europort with the help of sniffer dogs made a shocking discovery last Friday when they seized 8kg of herbal cannabis which was concealed in a vehicle disembarking from the ferry from France.

The drugs, which are believed to hold a street value of around €96,000, were seized during routine profiling.

A Lithuanian man who is in his twenties was arrested for questioning at Wexford Garda Station. The man was later brought before Judge Gerard Haughton in a special sitting of Gorey District Court on Saturday April 21 and was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Friday April 27.
