Development site on outskirts of Wexford town up for auction
ONE of the finest development sites in County Wexford is to go for auction next month with a pre-auction estimate of €820,000.
The property comprises a level site of circa 20.5 acres, opposite the extrance to Clonard Village on the western outskirts of Wexford town.
It has dual road frontage on to the R733 opposite Whitford House Hotel and N11/N25 Wexford ring road bypass.
Colum Murphy, the managing director of Kehoe and Associates, said the lands were zoned 'residential medium' in the current Wexford Town and Environs Development Plan 2009-2015 (extended to 2019).
Mr Murphy said the site would have naturally been worth 'multiple times its current AMV' at the peak of the market.
He said it represented an exceptional opportunity for an investor at a price of around €40,000 an acre.
'It's near the new Loreto and directly opposite Clonard Village where we have had a very large number of commercial sales in the last 12 to 18 months,' he said.
The site is to go under the hammer at the Kehoe and Associates auction rooms on Commercial Quay at 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 23.
