Dramatic rescue operation off Rosslare coast

THREE MEN AND a dog have been rescued from a sandbank off Rosslare after their boat became stuck.

The rescue took place on Wednesday evening and saw the men airlifted to safety by the Rescue 117 helicopter.

The men put out a distress call when they realised they were stuck and the Irish Coast Guard was alerted at around 6.40pm.

Assisted by the Rosslare and Carnsore Coast Guard units the crew of Rescue 1117 bought the men and the dog, all uninjured, on board at 7.40pm.
