E-stamps in Credit Union

By Maria Pepper

Wexford Credit Union is discontinuing the sale of €5 saving stamps and offering customers electronic stamps on their accounts instead.

Down through the years, the stamp has been a popular way for people to save smaller amounts for holidays and household bills but is now being replaced by the E-stamp as the Credit Union moves with the times.

The Credit Union has informed customers that the E-Stamp is a more secure way of saving as any loss is carried by a member when a physical book of stamps is lost or stolen.

The value of all outstanding stamps currently held by customers will be honoured and can be converted into the new E-stamp which will not be attached to loan balances and will earn a dividend.
