'Fake' bomb thrown at house in Enniscorthy
A 'fake' pipe bomb was thrown through the window of a house in Friary Place off Enniscorthy's Abbey Square early on Monday morning in the second such violent incident of its kind in the town in the past three weeks.
Gardai sealed off the area and residents were evacuated from their homes.
The motive for the attack is so far unclear.
There were no injuries and an army bomb disposal unit which arrived in the town at 12.50 p.m., declared the area safe at 2.05 p.m. The device was not found to be viable.
The incident follows an attack in Friary Place earlier in the month when at least one shot was fired at the front door of a house.
