ON A weekend which was dedicated to the memory of one well known former service man, Commodore John Barry, a group of almost 50 personnel from different parts of the country assembled at the Faythe for a special wreath laying ceremony in honour of all deceased members of the Organisation of ExService Men and Women.

Prior to the wreath laying ceremony, which took place at noon on Sunday, a mass was offered in their honour at Rowe Street Church. The mass was said by Fr. David Murphy of Caroreigh. He himself, has served with the defence forces.

Minister of State Paul Kehoe TD laid a wreath at the memorial statue along with Mayor Davy Hynes.

Local members of the organisation proudly welcomed Peter Byrne, National President of ONE to join them on the occasion.

John Fowler, Chairman of the Commodore John Barry Branch in Wexford thanked everybody for coming and paying tribute to all deceased members.
