Festival's windows exhibition
WEXFORD'S retailers are being encouraged to participate in this year's festival windows exhibition.
The exhibition, sponsored by Wexford Credit Union and organised by Wexford Chamber, takes places every year during Wexford Opera Festival and Wexford Fringe Festival.
All types of retailers can get involved by dressing up their shop windows by choosing from one of three themes: Fringe Festival, Halloween or Autumnal. First and second prizes will be awarded for each theme and the winner of each theme will then go forward with a chance of winning the Best Overall Festival Window prize of €1,000.
Wexford Chamber and Wexford Credit Union are appealing to every business in town to get involved.
'The festival windows competition is a long-held tradition that is part and parcel of the Wexford Fringe Festival and Wexford Opera Festival experience,' said Ultan Ryan, Manager of Wexford Credit Union. 'It has powerful potential to bring people into our shops and celebrate Wexford as a town, bringing culture to life and Wexford Credit Union is delighted once again to be supporting this event,' said Mr Ryan.
Booking forms have already been distributed to retailers and more are available from Wexford Chamber. The closing date for entry forms is today, Wednesday, October 19.
The judging of the festival windows exhibition will take place on Tuesday, October 25. A prize-giving ceremony will take place in Wexford Credit Union on Thursday, October 27, where €1,500 worth of prizes will be awarded to retailers.
