Happily-married Mayglass couple Nicky and Kitty Kavanagh celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family meal in Meylers Millhouse in Tacumshane.

Nicky (81) and Kitty nee Hughes (72) were marred in Mayglass Church on November 9, 1968 by Fr. Jim Ryan and were joined by guests at a wedding reception in the former County Hotel in Anne Street, Wexford.

Kitty's sister Dolores was her bridesmaid for the happy event while Nicky's brother, the late Paddy Kavanagh was the best man.

Nicky from Piercestown and Kitty from Mayglass met while they both worked for the Greated family in Drinagh and following their marriage, the couple settled in Mayglass to rear their two sons Ken and Richard.

They were joined on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary by their sons and their daughters-in-law Alice and Mairead and their grandchildren Oisin, Teighan, Caitlin, Aoife, Erin, Siofra and Calum, ranging in age from 15 years to four.

Nicky and Kitty received many good wishes from family and friends on the occasion of their 50th anniversary.
