Fined for altercation
A man was fined a total of €500 at Wexford District Court for public order offences.
Max Keith, Apartment 2, 3 Parnell Street, Wexford pleaded guilty to engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour at South Main Street on April 4 and being intoxicated in Brendan Corish Gardens on May 12.
Garda Ian Doyle said he received a report of an altercation in progress at South Main Street at 2.40 a.m. on April 4. He went to the scene and saw the defendant in an intoxicated state. Garda Doyle needed the assistance of three colleagues to arrest him. Garda David Fitzgerald was called to Brendan Corish Gardens at 3 a.m. on May 12 to deal with a domestic dispute which spilled onto the road. The defendant was outside on the road after being asked to leave a party. Garda Fitzgerald said it was decided to remove him from the area and he was taken home in the patrol car.
A short time later, there was a second call from Brendan Corish Gardens and when the gardai arrived, the defendant was back in the area again. He was subsequently arrested.
Nigel Allen, defending, said his client apologised for his behaviour.
