Flood questionnaire for 500 households
FIVE hundred households in Wexford town are to receive a questionnaire about flooding in their neighbourhoods.
The questionnaire which is being distributed by Wexford Borough Council, is part of a European research project that is examining the effectiveness of flood warnings.
The Irish section of the study is being carried out by the Office of Public Works in association with the Centre for Water Resources Research in University College Dublin. Wexford is one of four towns chosen to participate â?“ the others are Clonmel, Sligo and Ballinasloe.
The aim of the study is to determine how flood risk is viewed by the public in Wexford and how flood warning information is received and acted upon.
