Forth Mountain tyre dumpers sought by council
HUNDREDS of old tyres have been dumped on Forth Mountain, close to Wexford town.
Cliona Connolly, from the county council's environment section, said the tyres had been dumped in two piles and had gone down into a gully which meant they were difficult see.
She said council workers had had a difficult task in retrieving the tyres from the slopes and had now gathered them in one spot ready for collection and disposal.
'A contractor has been appointed and we are just waiting for them to be collected,' she said.
Cliona said it wasn't known who had dumped the tyres and anyone who was able to help the environment section with their investigations is asked to contact them at County Hall.
