Fundraiser in memory of beloved Wexford teacher
A much loved and respected school teacher who passed away earlier this year is to be remembered with a very special fundraiser in her honour next week.
CBS teacher Sinead Breen's untimely passing at the age of just 43 rocked the local community back in May and tributes poured in for a dedicated educator, a loving wife to Philip and devoted mother to three young daughters - Chloe, Laura and Caitlin.
Four months after the Bridgetown woman's passing, having suddenly taken ill while out for lunch, her family and friends are hoping to well and truly keep her memory alive by staging a special fundraiser for the Irish Heart Foundation.
Philip, Chloe, Laura and Caitlin as well as extended family, friends and colleagues are asking people to join them on the track at Wexford Racecourse to take part in a special Park Run on World Heart Day - September 28. Participants are invited to walk, jog or run the 5km course.
In particular it is hoped that there will be a good attendance of those who Sinead would have taught in the CBS over 17 years spent in the classroom there.
People are asked to register and donate €20 to the cause and donations will include a t-shirt to wear on the day. All money raised will proudly be donated to the Irish Heart Foundation in Sinead's name to help them continue their fight against heart disease and stroke in Ireland.
You can donate and register at www.idonate.ie/sineadbreenparkrun and those intending to take part are asked to let the organisers know your t-shirt size. So far nearly €3,500 has been raised ahead of the event and hopefully this can grow even further before walkers, runners and joggers take to the starting line.
