Gardai in safety appeal to road users in South East
GARDAI have appealed to all road users to do their part in reducing the tragedy that road fatalities and serious injury collisions bring upon families in the South Eastern Region.
Assistant Commissioner Jack Nolan, South Eastern Region, said 2014 was a challenging year on the roads in the South Eastern Region. A total of 33 persons lost their lives on the roads in the Counties of Wexford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Tipperary and Waterford.
This is an increase of six on the number of road fatalities in 2013. He said primary causes are speed, alcohol use and the non-wearing of seatbelts.
