Ger Fox Sailing new band in Wexford

By Sara Gahan

'Ger Fox Sailing' is a new local band, which consists of Wexford old-timers Johnny Fox, Derren Dempsey, Marc Hillis and Richie Mason.

The band will play their brand new debut album in full for the first time in The Foggy Dew Inn, South Main Street, Wexford, from 8 p.m. this Friday, August 25.

Ger Fox Sailing will be joined on the night by the talented Basciville (Cillian and Lorcan Byrne) and Laura Hyland, who will each perform a solo set as well as a combined collaborative that is arranged especially for the show.

Admission is €10 - tickets on the door.

The four members from the rock band have a mutual musical relationship, which dates back to the early naughties. Johnny and Richie were learning their trade with Bengie, while Derren and Harvey were playing with Laminate.

The two Wexford bands shared a lot of similar tastes and approach to their music and the friendships made during this period led to Johnny later joining Laminate, Derren and Johnny subsequently forming The River Fane and in more recent times to Richie and Harvey playing together in WOLFF. Ger Fox Sailing is a continuation of this story.
