A grandmother from Gorey found she was in luck when she won €37,000 on the RTÉ gameshow Winning Streak.

Kathleen Kelly was watching Winning Streak at home with her grand-daughter, Chelseay, the previous week when her name was pulled from the drum.

However, she only believed it was really her when her full address was shown at the end of the programme.

On the show she won €12,000 in cash as well as a Renault Zoe car worth €25,000.

Kathleen, who is a widow, and has three adult children, Noel, Liz and Mags, who are all based in Wexford.

She also has seven grandchildren and one great grandchild called, Nova.

News of her good fortune led to her being inundated with well wishes from neighbours and family members and also from her friends at Craanford Bingo.

It was a cause of double celebration for the family as her grandson, Corrie, celebrated his 21st birthday the same day.
