Griffin to speak at exiles' dinner
HURLING expert Liam Griffin will headline the Wexford exiles night out in Carlow when they meet to honour their heroes from 1960.
The Wexford Association Carlow is honouring the Wexford hurling team of 1960, the All Ireland Champions of 50 years ago, at their annual dinner dance in the Seven Oaks Hotel in Carlow on Friday April 9.
'A great night of nostalgia is eagerly looked forward to for the exiles and hurling fans from that great era of the mid-Fifties and early Sixties,' said spokesman Tom O'Keeffe. 'It is a privilege for Wexford Association in Carlow to honour these hurling heroes who wore the purple and gold with great pride and heart in hand.'
Former Wexford manager Liam Griffin will be the guest speaker on the night and dancing will be to Wexford's own Teresa and the Stars.
