BANK OF Scotland has announced that the closure of 44 Halifax branches in Ireland will take place in two phases in June.
A total of 21 branches will close on Friday, June 18 while the remaining 23 branches will shut down on Wednesday, June 23.
The Wexford branch of Halifax, in the old ESB premises on Common Quay Street, is among those that will close on June 23 and customers have until June 18 to close their accounts.
The bank said that all customers will receive written correspondence by April 14, outlining how the closure will affect their accounts and the options open to them.
All branches will cease opening on Saturdays after April 10.
