Help a charity close to David's heart

The late David Jevens.

If you have a sweet tooth, you'll find the nicest homemade cakes that money can buy at The Riverbank House Hotel on Friday as a Coffee Morning/Cake Sale takes place to raise funds for the Cadet David Jevens Memorial Fundraiser in aid of CAMP (Cheshire Adventure Motivation Project).

David Jevens was an air corps pilot who passed away when his plane went down during a training exercise in 2009, and each year since his friends and family have been trying to come up with unique and novel ways of keeping his memory alive and raising funds in his name for a charity that was close to his heart, CAMP.

CAMP is a voluntary organization which offers a unique opportunity to people with physical disabilities to gain confidence through the medium of adventure activities such as rock climbing, hover crafting, canoeing, kayaking and boating to name but a few.

Throughout the course of his Air Corps training, Cadet Jevens volunteered with CAMP and saw first-hand the amazing work they do, leaving a lasting impression upon him.

On Friday morning from 10 a.m. members of the public will have the chance to drop in for a chat and a cup of tea or coffee, and pick up some of the finest cakes and treats money can buy, expertly made by home-baking hero, Angela Byrne.

All money raised on the day will be added to funds raised through a parachute jump that David's friends and family will undertake in August and all support is greatly welcomed.
