Heroin case adjourned

A WOMAN found in possession of heroin had her case adjourned for a probation report at Wexford District Court.

Sarah Barden, Harperstown, Taghmon was searched by gardai at Drinagh on March 14, 2011. Inspector Pat McDonald said three bags of heroin were found during the search. He said the defendant admitted that the drugs were for sale or supply.

Eric Furlong, solicitor handed in a letter from a counsellor outlining his client's efforts to deal with her drug addiction. He said the 30 year old woman started using drugs when she was 21. She started on hash and then graduated to ecstasy and eventually became addicted to heroin.

Judge Gerard Haughton adjourned the case to September 17.
