High cost of taking estates in charge
AROUND 55 estates across the county are in the process of being taken in charge by Wexford County Council.
Cllr Michael Whelan welcomed the news that seven estates are being taken in charge over the coming weeks and that many more will be taken in charge by the autumn. He asked if the council will receive any departmental funding for maintenance and repairs at the estates.
Director of Services for Economic Development Tony Larkin said the council has exhausted its enforcement options when it comes to some unfinished estates and is now taking them in charge. Mr Larkin said there is no new funding tranche available, but one may become available.
