'High-heeled' cyclists raise €4,451 for refuge
A CHARITY CYCLE in aid of Wexford Women's Refuge has raised a total of €4,451.40.
Over the course of the two-day event, volunteers got into the spirit of the event by 'cycling a mile in her shoes', which meant both men and women wore high heel shoes as they cycled on exercise bikes stationed at Tesco to raise money for the refuge.
Some of the charitable volunteers even went all out and wore wigs and costumes! People supporting the event could also enter a draw for a Christmas Hamper and the winner of the hamper kindly donated it back to the Wexford Women's Refuge. 'We would like to sincerely thank you all who supported the Wexford Women's Refuge Charity Cycle and look forward to their support in the future,' said organiser Kieran McGuinness.
