Hynes on road to recovery
'IF I ever did need convincing of the essential need for the service, I don't need it now,' said Wexford man Davy Hynes, who is this week continuing his recovery at home from a quadruple bypass.
The well-known Labour councillor and drugs project worker underwent the surgery after suffering a heart attack, which saw him rushed to Wexford General Hospital's A&E on New Year's Eve.
'I was getting pains in my chest and my arms,' recalled Davy.
His wife Margaret called Caredoc, who advised the couple to call an ambulance.
The Wexford man is full of praise for the staff at Wexford General, where he remained until he had to be transferred to the Mater Hospital in Dublin for a quadruple bypass on January 13.
