Irate children's allowance protesters vent anger outside Howlin's clinic
WEXFORD PEOPLE angry about proposed cuts to Children's Allowance payments, staged a protest outside Minister Brendan Howlin's clinic in Coolcotts last Saturday.
The protest was organised by the Wexford branch of the socialist republican party Eirigí.
Eirigí councillor John Dwyer congratulated those in attendance for having the courage to protest.
'It takes courage to voice your opposition to such powerful people,' he said.
' Thousands of people across County Wexford rely on their Children's Allowance to keep their heads above water.'
He confirmed that the protests will continue every Saturday outside the SIPTU offices in Coolcotts where the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform holds his weekly clinic.
