Ireland's strongest men get ready to flex their muscles

SOME of Ireland's strongest men will compete against each other in New Ross in November.

The Youth Centre in Nunnery Lane will host 20 of Ireland's most fearsome competitors on November 6 in one of the most brutal and exciting team events on the strongman circuit.

Ten teams of two competitors will compete see who will be crowned as Ireland's strongest pairing.

Wexford will be represented by New Ross man Nicky ' The Warrior' Whelan along with his partner, UK and Irish strongman legend Paul ' The Bull' Roberts.

Confidence is high with the New Ross duo as they are coming off the back of a national strongman victory in the four-man team event.

Run over one day, there will be no letup for the 20 competitors, and this is expected to be an amazing exhibition of power, endurance and teamwork as they do battle to be crowned Irish champions.

Admission for this exclusive event is €5 with children entering for free if accompanied by an adult. The event will start at 12 p.m. so please get there as early as possible as places in the Youth Centre will be limited.
