Just twelve arrests made at Bank Holiday weekend
A TOTAL of twelve public order incidents were recorded in the whole Wexford District over the Easter holiday weekend.
Gardai have said that it was a 'particularly quiet' holiday weekend with twelve public order incidents from Good Friday until the end of Bank holiday Monday.
Most of the incidents were for public drunkenness.
Gardai also noted that three of the incidents took place outside of town in Castlebridge and Bridgetown.
' That would mean there were only nine incidents in the town for the whole weekend. That's a fairly low number of public order incidents,' a Garda spokesman said.
He added that there was just one assault of 'a very minor nature' over the same period. This incident happened in the Rosslare Harbour area.
Over the Easter holidays there were two arrests for drink driving in the Wexford District. Motorists are advised that Gardai will again be mounting a series of checkpoints over the coming Bank Holiday weekend.
