'Knock' ghost estates
GHOST estate developers should be told by Wexford County Council to either finish their developments of see them ' knocked', it was claimed last week. Cllr. Malcolm Byrne said it was time to 'get tough' on developers who have left estates unfinished.
'We should either tell them to develop or see their estates knocked,' said Cllr. Byrne at a meeting of Wexford County Council.
He said it was time for the local authority to 'face reality'.
'I don't like to see the Council spending money to put safety measures in place in unfinished estates,' he said.
'Either the developers finish these or knock them down. Something has to be done,' he added.
'We as a Council should not be picking up the tab'.
