'Let over 55s swim for less'
A COUNCILLOR has suggested that Wexford Swimming Pool and Leisure Centre offer people aged over 55 a special discount during non-peak hours.
Cllr. Jim Allen said it would help people improve their health and fitness.
Cllr. Anthony Kelly described it as a very good idea.
The swimming pool is owned by Wexford Borough Council and operated by a not-for-profit company.
Town Clerk Angela Laffan told councillors that the company has made a surplus over the past few years.
Cllr. Padge Reck raised a laugh when he said the last time he went for a swim was in 1954.
