Live register figures increase by 200 people
The number of people on the Live Register in Wexford jumped by more than 200 people in the last month according to the latest figures.
The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office show that in December 2014 there were a total of 16,197 on the Live Register in Wexford, an increase of 206 from the November 2014 figures.
All four areas, Wexford town, New Ross, Gorey and Enniscorthy showed an increase in numbers with Wexford town showing an increase of 79 people, Enniscorthy an increase of 78, New Ross an increase of 43 and an increase of six people in Gorey.
In Wexford town there were 5,628 people on the Live Register in December. Of these 818 were under the age of 25 while 4,810 were aged 25 years and over.
In Gorey there were a total of 4,099 people on the register in December, 641 aged under 25 and 3,458 aged 25 years and over. In Enniscorthy there were 3,623 people on the register in December, 511 under the age of 25 with the remaining 3,112 aged 25 years and upwards. in New Ross there was a total of 2,847 people on the register in December, 414 under the age of 25 and 2,433 aged 25 years and over.
Of the 16,197 people on the register last month 9,707 were men and 6,490 were women.
