Low paid workers struck off housing list
Low paid workers in the county who are in receipt of Family Income Supplement payments are being struck off the housing list because their income is ironically deemed to be over the threshold.
Cllr Davy Hynes called for the anomaly to be probed, in a motion. He said: 'There is one case where the father of an autistic son that was being cared for at weekends was deemed to be over the limit for social houses as the young man's payment was taken into account.'
Councillors agreed that a letter shuold be written to the Minister for Social Protection on the issue.
