M11 bins ruled out
A REQUEST from Cllr. Robbie Ireton (Lab.) for litter bins at the motorway parking along the M11 has been firmly shot down by county manager Eddie Breen.
The councillor told last week's meeting of Wexford County Council he was worried about a build-up of refuse at the roadside but the manager told him that bins could not solve the problem.
The pull-in areas were not provided for picnicking, he asserted, convinced that bins would only serve to attract uncontrollable dumping.
Cllr. Ireton suggested anti-litter signs might be useful but Eddie Breen felt that people already realised that pegging rubbish around the place is an offence, signs or no signs.
